Centre to support Sindh for completion of its development projects: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has assured Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah that the federal government would support the provincial government for completion of its development projects.

The assurance came during a meeting between Murad Ali Shah and Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad on Friday.

During the meeting, development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme of Sindh, which includes the K-4, Karachi Circular Railway and Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, were discussed.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Muttahid Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Member of National Assembly Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday stressed the need for all political parties to work together to resolve problems facing the country.

He said it was need of the hour to go beyond political interests and provide relief to the people.

Overall political situation of the country was discussed in the meeting. Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui assured the prime minister of MQM’s full support in this regard.

On April 20, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Law and Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui had said the first batch of 121 buses had been shipped from China for Karachi.

“Happy to share this good news for #Karachi. Out of the 240 new buses, 1st batch of 121 buses has been shipped from China,” Murtaza Wahab had tweeted adding that the date got delayed because of Covid surge in China due to which Shanghai port was closed.
