ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister for planning and development Asad Umar on Saturday said the measures which were necessary for PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s security should be taken.

“First responsibility for Imran Khan’s security is on the state. We believe in peaceful politics. If you have an intention of using force, then it will meet with a reaction,” Asad Umar said while talking with media in Islamabad. He was flanked by PTI leaders Khurram Habib and Usman Dar.

The ex-planning minister asked if Pakistan Muslim League-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz could be given security, then why not Imran Khan. He warned the government that if it tried to do something, then it would not be in a position to control Pakistan.

Talking about the police raid around Bani Gala, he said several vehicles including prisoner vans came to Bani Gala. “Why did they come here? Probably, to scare Imran Khan. Imran Khan’s power is the masses,” he said.

He said announcement of elections date was the only way out from the prevailing situation. Hold elections, as Imran Khan had to come back through polls, he maintained.
