QUETTA:  Senior Balochistan Awami Party (BNP) leader from Mastung Sardar Noor Ahmed Bangulzai was gunned down at main Mastung bazar area of Mastung district on Saturday.

According to police, Noor Ahmed Bangulzai was passing through main bazar when unidentified people opened fire on him near Girls High School Mastung. As a result, he died on the spot. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.

Police rushed to the spot soon after the information and cordoned off the area for investigation. The deceased was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for an autopsy. He was a right-hand man of late Nawabzada Siraj Khan Raisani.

The motive behind the killing could not be known till filing of the report, while the investigation is underway.
