Shehbaz Sharif will likely address the nation over hike in petrol price today

The Prime Minister of Pakistan and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif will most likely address the nation today. As per details arrangements for recording evening’s speech is going to take place at Prime Minister’s House and state’s TV team has been invited. 

 

According to details, Shehbaz Sharif will be announcing a relief package and he will be explaining the reasons for the massive rise in petrol and petroleum products. The Prime Minister is going to highlight current economic conditions today.

 

However, Shehbaz Sharif will inform about the future economic strategy and resolve the poor economic policies of the previous government.

Previously the PML-N-led dropped an atom bomb on already inflation-hit people of Pakistan to massively increase petrol, diesel and other POL products’ prices by Rs 30: Petrol – Rs179.86; Diesel – Rs174.15; Kerosene oil – Rs155.56 and Light diesel – Rs148.31 are new rates.

 

The finance minister added that following the choice to hike the prices, financial markets would witness stability, the rupee would strengthen, and the economy would get a boost. Miftah Ismail said that Imran Khan is going against the IMF deal, they had announced subsidies on petroleum products when his government’s tenure was coming to an end.
