KARACHI: On Friday, Amir e Jamaat e Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman demanded in a protest against the derogatory remarks by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Nupur Sharma that the ambassador of India be expelled from Pakistan, BOL News reports.

In the protest against the BJP, the president of the minority wing Karachi Yunus Sohan and General Secretary Parvez Barkat were also present.

Nupur Sharma is claimed to have suggested in a TV debate over the ongoing Gyanvapi row that certain items from Islamic religious books might be mocked by people. Muslims, she claimed, are insulting Hinduism by referring to the ‘Shivling’ discovered inside the mosque complex as a fountain.

Cases were registered against Nupur Sharma for her Islamophobic statements in Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai. Muslims worldwide have demanded strict action against these remarks of Sharma. The BJP senior members have also expelled Nupur from political activities for six years.
