LAHORE: Punjab Government on Friday challenged the session court verdict in Lahore High Court (LHC), where Mian Aslam Iqbal accused Hamza Shehbaz of the raids and harassment during the long march towards Islamabad, BOL News reports.

The registrar’s office agreed to the Punjab Government’s appeal for a hearing. Justice Amjad Rafiq summoned the case today. The session court on the petition of Mian Aslam Iqbal gave a decision to take action against the chief minister, chief secretary, deputy commissioner Lahore, and other officials.

Punjab Government filed a petition to appeal to Lahore High Court to reverse the decision of the session court and accused Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Mian Aslam Iqbal in their appeal.

Justice Amjad Rafiq remarked that the petitioners attached the WhatsApp copies which are not valid proof. He advised the provincial government to bring verified files for further proceedings, BOL News reports.

The court adjourned the case till the next hearing date.
