ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah has expressed displeasure over non-implementation of the court order in the missing persons case.

During hearing of the case pertaining to recovery of journalist Mudassir Naro and other missing persons, Deputy Attorney General Khawaja Imtiaz said a committee had been formed to locate the missing persons. Upon which the court said it should not be entangled into committees.

The court inquired that what action the federal government had taken so far. People still went missing, the IHC CJ said.

“The question is that where are the missing persons?” he asked.

The court directed to read its last order. Upon which, the deputy attorney general read the order.

Justice Athar Minallah said a case of extremely serious nature lied before the constitutional court. He inquired that what action was taken on the court order. Khawaja Imtiaz said a committee had been constituted in which a law minister was also included.

“Did you follow the court order? The court wants implementation on its every single order. Will it feel good, if the court summoned chief executives of the country?” he wondered.

He asked the deputy attorney general that how many people had gone missing after the court’s order, or how many programmes were held on TV channels. “Don’t play with the court,” he warned.

The IHC chief justice queried that what made him nervous.

Colonel (retd) Inam Raheem said the court’s ruling was crystal clear.

“Since I talk on the missing persons, therefore TV channels do not allow to come in a talk show. All the high courts are issuing orders related to missing persons. They turn a deaf ear to them and do not implement the court orders,” Inam Raheem said.
