LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Monday blamed the previous government for increase in petroleum prices and said the agreement was signed by the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in this regard.
Talking to her social media team in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not like increasing petrol prices, but he was coerced by the agreement.
“Though we are being told for 75 years that Pakistan is passing through a sensitive time, but the recent time is really sensitive,” she said.

The PML-N vice president said the government brought by the masses was not allowed to run, therefore the country went backward instead of moving forward.
Every time the PML-N came into power, the national economy was on ventilator and in shambles but the party served the country and recovered the economy, she maintained.
“If you want to face the oppression, then you need to have a brave heart like Nawaz Sharif,” she said.
Taking a dig at the former prime minister, Imran Khan, she said he was hiding for fear of arrest. She dared him to come out and face the court cases like she faced during his government.
“For God’s sake, let Pakistan run, Imran Khan,” she requested.
The previous government made different countries antagonists, she said adding that now a hardworking and competent PM Shehbaz Sharif had come.
On May 31, Maryam Nawaz had said that Imran Khan had sabotaged Pakistan’s relationship with friendly countries.
She had said this while addressing a party ceremony in Murree.
Maryam had further said that the PTI government had destroyed the Pak-Turk projects initiated in the PML-N era.
