One dies, three pass out in Karachi fire incident

KARACHI: One man died and three others passed out in a massive fire at Chase Up store near Jail Chowrangi in Karachi on Wednesday, Bol news channel reported.

The fire erupted at basement of the store around noon. It has been declared a third degree fire.

The three men who passed out have been admitted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. The dead person is about 29 years old.

Around 15 vehicles including fire tenders and water bowsers were trying to putt out the fire. Later, during effort to douse the fire, two fire fighters also passed out, so they were also shifted to the hospital for treatment.

On May 27, in the Baldia Town region, a chemical and foam plant burst into massive flames.

From a considerable distance, the flames are readily visible. Fire brigade vehicles approached as the flames began to ignite.

The fire department rescued all of the persons trapped inside the godown and took every precaution to put out the fire. Due to the intense smoke, a youngster fainted near the scene.
