The covid-19 cases in Pakistan are once again witnessing an upward trend for the past few weeks and this has pushed the country towards another up-mask situation with 3.41% positivity ratio.

The data shared by the National Institute of Health, Islamabad (NIH) on Thursday unveiled that 641 new infections were recorded in the country which is the highest count since March this year.

Covid-19 diagnostic tests were conducted on 18,813 samples out of which 641 turned positive pushing Pakistan towards a 3.41% positivity ratio.

The data by NIH also disclosed that 119 patients are currently critically ill while 2 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

In light of the recent situation, Inspector General (IG) Sindh has directed the on-duty police officers to wear masks and follow the SOPs.

The IG Sindh has taken the decision while keeping the soaring Covid-19 cases in view and ordered the police officers to follow the mandatory guidelines for the disease.

A notification was also issued in this regard that holds that the use of sanitizer and frequent hand washing must be practiced daily during duty hours.

On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has once again made the wearing of face masks mandatory for domestic flights due to the new surge in COVID-19 cases.
