PM Shehbaz visits Balochistan to review relief activities in flood-hit districts

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, who arrived in Jacobabad on Saturday, took an aerial view of Goth Ali Mardan Shambani in district Jhal Magsi and other affected areas to assess the losses and the chief secretary Balochistan during the flight gave details about the flood situation and the relief operations.
He stopped at the Shambani village and met with the people affected by the floods.
The Prime Minister directed for establishment of a medical camp and the provision of medicines for the affected village.
He also ordered the posting of a veterinary doctor for the livestock and asked the authorities to immediately arrange two boats and rations for the villages and speed up the relief activities for the affectees.
Chief Secretary Balochistan immediately sent additional teams for relief activities in the flood-affected areas.

Earlier, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz and Chief Secretary Balochistan briefed Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, who arrived in Jacobabad on Saturday.

This was stated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb in a tweet on Saturday.

She said Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz and Chief Secretary Balochistan briefed the Prime Minister in detail.

Later, the Prime Minister left for Jhal Magsi to visit flood and rain affected areas.

In Balochistan, relief and rescue activities are underway in Districts affected by heavy monsoon rains.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority Balochistan distributed relief items among 12 families in desht Nilk area of District Kech.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Air Force personnel and helicopter fleet are actively engaged in providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief support to the people stranded in flash floods affected areas of Balochistan.

According to PAF spokesperson, on the special instructions of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, PAF helicopters have distributed 4200 kilograms ration comprising flour, ghee, sugar, daal, tea in the calamity hit areas during the last two days.

Additionally, several families have been evacuated from land locked areas to safer place.

Relief operation in Balochistan is a practical manifestation of Pakistan Air Force’s resolve to extend all out support to fellow countrymen in the hour of need.
