CM Murad visits Manchar lake after flooding in Sehwan
SEHWAN: Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, visited Manchar Lake where he was briefed by the authorities of the department of water resources about the flooding in Sehwan and surrounding areas, BOL News reported on Saturday.
According to the details, Manchar lake is spread across 100 square kilometers. The geographical location of this lake is such that it is a place where floods from different provinces enter the lake, a spokesperson for the water resources told CM Sindh.
According to the report, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sehwan briefed the CM that the water level in Manchar lake rose to 116.6 feet. The Earl Head and Tail Regulators have been opened to allow flood water to flow into the river. 65 houses in 6 villages of Sehwan were destroyed in the rains. 110 crude houses were also affected by 50%, along with nine boats of fishermen, also destroyed.
After being briefed by the authorities, CM Murad visited different locations in Sehwean where rain has caused trouble for the people. He directed that the issue of the fishermen should be dealt with as soon as possible.
CM Murad had a media talk in Sehwan where the fishermen were angry at the provincial authorities and told the CM that the administration is not assisting people and briefing him with wrong facts.
