ISLAMABAD: Shahzain Bugti, Minister of Narcotics Control, on Thursday said that the United States will provide Pakistan with various technologies and vehicles to fight drugs and prevent trafficking, BOL News reports.

The federal minister claimed that US Assistant Secretary of State Todd D. Robinson and US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Bloom had a meeting where the US ambassador was briefed about the trafficking in Pakistan. Todd D. Robinson affirmed that the USA will assist to eliminate drug trafficking in the country.

“The youth is addicted to drugs, and if they are not stopped it will be a catastrophic situation,” the federal minister claimed. He added that the anti-narcotics department is working against drug smuggling. “We have a shortage of workforce. The empty slots in the department will be filled soon,” says the narcotics minister.

The federal minister of Narcotics Control appreciated the efforts to eliminate drug trafficking from Pakistan.
