ISLAMABAD: On the issue of arrest warrant of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Islamabad Police on Saturday said an arrest warrant was a legal process.

“Imran Khan did not appear in court on his previous appearance. Therefore, an arrest warrant has been issued to ensure his appearance in court,” Islamabad Police said in a tweet.

The police said the Supreme Court in Case No. 407/22 issued an order to strike out the terrorism section. “After this order, the case was transferred to the Sessions Court. Imran Khan has not yet obtained his bail from the Sessions Court,” police said.

Police said Imran Khan could be arrested, in case of non-appearance before the court. Hence, the police said, people were requested not to listen to the rumours.

A judicial magistrate has issued a warrant to arrest PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
