PIA flight steward slips away from Canada
KARACHI: A flight steward of Pakistan International Airline(PIA) has mysteriously disappeared from Toronto Airport, Canada.
PIA management said that steward Ijaz Ali Shah had reached Canada from Islamabad by PIA flight PK 781 and he was scheduled to return to Islamabad on October 16 by flight PK 782.
Sources said that the Canadian Border Security Force has been informed about the steward’s missing from duty.
The PIA management further said that disciplinary action will also be taken against the steward.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that an air hosts or air hostess of PIA has gone missing in this way. A similar incident happened in February last year as well. He reportedly went missing soon after landing in Toronto, Canada.
The matter was brought to the notice of PIA’s station manager in Canada who informed the airport authority about the disappearance of the air hostess without informing her seniors.
Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) all set to start its direct weekly passenger flights on the Beijing-Islamabad-Beijing route by end of October after approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
At present, the national flag carrier is operating a weekly flight on the Islamabad-Xian-Beijing-Islamabad sector. The PIA plane leaves Islamabad on Saturday and arrives in Xian on the same day. After disembarking all the passenger, the plane lands in Beijing on Sunday and leaves for Islamabad on Sunday evening.
