ISLAMABAD: PTI leaders reacted strongly to a press conference by former federal minister Faisal Vawda and said it was against the party policy.

PTI General Secretary Asad Umar Faisal Vawda’s statement does not represent party policy and views. He said Imran Khan has instructed PTI President Sindh to issue show cause notice to Faisal  Vawda for violating party policy.

PTI Sindh President Ali Zaidi said the press conference was an attempt to harm the PTI’s long march. He said the presser was shown on PTV which shows the ‘imported’ government was behind it.

He said Imran Khan has clearly issued instructions for all to remain peaceful during the long march. “What weight does his presser carry?” he asked.

PTI’s Babar Awan said Imran Khan has announced the policy regarding the long march. He said PTI leadership, workers and people are united on holding peaceful protest within the framework of the constitution and law.

He said the biggest long march in Pakistan’s history will begin on Friday. It’s time for the panicked imported government to go home, he added.

PTI Senator Ejaz Chaudhry also slammed Faisal Vawda for the statement regarding the long march.

Addressing a hurriedly called press conference, he said the PTI staged a 126-day sit-in in Islamabad and never broke the law. “Faisal Vawda has started polishing boots,” he said.

“Today the body of a very good friend and journalist is lying in front of his children and his wife and mother. Such things should have been said today,” he added.

“We staged a 126-day sit-in and organized small and large protests and never broke the law. Faisal Wawda said blood will be shed in Lahore and bodies will fall”.

Former Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said he doesn’t understand the purpose of Faisal Vawda’s statement.

“I do not know who is talking about all this I am unable to understand what was the real purpose of today’s press conference?  Our long march is peaceful. Politics of dead bodies is not Imran Khan’s style.

He said Arshad Sharif’s death should not be politicized. He  will long march will remain peaceful and any conspiracy to spoil it will fail.

PTI Senator Shibli Faraz said Faisal Wada a “shoddy” and “disjointed” attempt to distort facts and undermine the long march. “People of Pakistan don’t eat grass. Azadi march will inshallah achieve its noble objectives,” he vowed.
