PTI to hold week-long march from Lahore to Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold a week-long march from Lahore to Islamabad, Bol News reported.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced the date for the much-awaited long march to the federal against the government. He said the long march will commence on Friday, October 28. The march will march from Liberty Chowk in Lahore where the former prime minister will address party supporters.

According to reports, the long march will also be the lengthiest in the history of the country. It will start on Friday, October 28, and is expected to reach Islamabad the next Friday, November 4.

Sources said that the long march will only move forward during the day on GT Road. The march will stop and camp overnight before resuming the next day. The march will not move forward during the night.

PTI leaders will announce the next stop of the march every day. PTI chairman Imran will address the participants regularly. The long march has been planned such that it reaches its destination in Islamabad by Friday, Nov 4.

Imran Khan announced that his party’s long march toward Islamabad would commence on October 28 and he will lead it himself.

“This is our march for true freedom and it has no timeframe. We will reach Islamabad from the GT Road and the nation will come to Islamabad from across Pakistan,” he said while addressing a press conference in Lahore at the CM House Secretariat.

“I am predicting this will be the biggest sea of people in the history of the country,” Imran claimed. He clarified that the long march was “not politics” but a “war for the future of Pakistan.

“This is something way beyond politics, it is a war for freedom from these thieves that have been imposed over us. This jihad will decide where the country will go.”

Elaborating on the demands of the march, the former minister said that he only wants the decision on who will head the country should belongs to the public. He appealed to the come out in large numbers for the sake of the country.
