LAHORE: Main accused of the murder attempt on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been shifted to Lahore for investigations and his close family members are also detained.

Pertinently, the main accused, Naveed, has admitted that he tried to kill Imran Khan and is a plumber by profession.

Naveed is married and has two sons. The brothers of the main accused are also arrested by police. However, the neighbourhood has been claiming that he was an introverted person and never preferred mingling with the people.

On the other hand, the suspected assailant in a video statement confessed to the crime claiming that he gun attacked as Imran Khan was misleading the masses.

He also maintained that his target was only the PTI chief and no one else. The accused also submitted that he made attempt to kill Khan as party songs were being played amid Azaan.

However, contrarily, he also asserted that he decided to murder Imran Khan the day he left Lahore for the march.

Pertinently, Imran Khan remained safe but was injured in the attempt and underwent surgery for the removal of bullet fragments from his leg.

The surgery took place at Shaukat Khanum Hospital where reportedly Khan is doing good after the treatment.
