KARACHI: Following the announcement by the federal government to close markets and restaurants by 8 pm nationwide, Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Murad Ali Shah said that he will decide on the matter after consultation with the trade associations.

He was addressing the media after a meeting with the Minister of Defence Khawaja Asif and Federal Minister for Industry Makhdoom Murtaza when said that consultations with the wedding hall owners, restaurants associations, and market associations in this regard are crucial.

CM Murad Ali Shah also said that he will contact the associations on his own and suggested the premier consult stake holders in this regard.

“We own this country and to row it out of the crisis is our responsibility.”

Earlier, the federal government announced to close markets and restaurants at 8 pm under an energy conservation plan.

Federal Defence Khawaja Asif, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Qamar Zaman Kaira while holding a news conference in Islamabad said that marriage halls should be closed at 10 pm while markets and restaurants will be closed at 8 pm.
