LAHORE: Hassan Murtaza, General Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Punjab and Parliamentary Leader, said on Tuesday that it would be too early to say who would be the new chief minister Punjab.

While responding to the questions of the media outside the Punjab Assembly (PA), Syed Murtaza however said that the new chief minister would be the one whose name will be finalised by former president Asif Ali Zardari after consultation with the coalition partners.

While answering questions, Hassan Murtaza, without naming anybody, said that they did not understand the constitution.

He also said Chaudhry Shujaat was with them and claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) did not have required numbers.

Hassan Murtaza said if the session did not take place, the next action plan was ready adding that they had plans A, B and C.

The parliamentary leader maintained that wait for a few days and everything would be fine.

Murtaza categorically said assemblies would not be dissolved adding that all parties were against dissolution.

“Governments come and go but assemblies should complete their term,” he concluded.

However, the political insiders confirmed Bol News that Syed Hassan Murtaza and son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and PPP’s MPA Syed Ali Haider Gillani are being considered for the slot of chief minister in case the PDM succeeds in vote of no confidence (VONC) against CM Parvez Elahi.
