RAWALPINDI: Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Thursday visited soldiers injured in an operation in Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Defence Minister Khawaja Asif met the injured officers and soldiers at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Rawalpindi.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif inquired about their well-being and appreciated their high spirit and morale. He also lauded their professionalism and bravery soldier during the operation against terrorists.

Earlier, Director General ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan Army will not tolerate cross-border terrorism under any circumstances and eliminate any kind of terror activities in the country.

The DG ISPR said that brave soldiers of the army successfully accomplished the operation against the terrorists, who seized the compound of the Bannu Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD)

He noted that almost 35 terrorists were under arrest at the CTD compound and one of them had managed to overpower an employee after hitting him in the head with a brick.

Security agencies in a successful operation killed 25 terrorists, arrested three whereas seven terrorists surrendered, who were holding out a CTD Compound in Bannu city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
