KARACHI: Former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has given a clear order to hold local government elections in Islamabad.

In his twitter message regarding the local body elections in Islamabad, PTI leader Asad Umar said that voters are there since morning and PTI teams are there but the Election Commission is absent.

Asad Umar said that the imported government is afraid of the people and PDM runs away from where the election is held.

Criticizing the government, former federal minister said that the case could have gone in government  favor in the court and asked why were PDM not prepared to hold elections.

Asad Umar said teams of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Islamabad are present on the ground for the election but despite the decision of the high court, the staff of the Election Commission of Pakistan is absent.

PTI leader further said that the imported government is taking out the funeral of democracy.  He said this imported government, which is trying to create a system in which there is democracy and no elections.

Asad Umar added that last week the State Bank’s reserves decreased by another $294 million. He said import of the country has come close to historic lowest level. He said imported government keeps digging a deeper hole and sinking the Pakistani economy.
