LAHORE: The political heat has been rising in the province as the Speaker Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan rejected to call the session for a no-confidence vote today at the advice of the Governor.

Following the two-page charge sheet of the Governor for the vote of confidence, Speaker Punjab Assembly has also issued a two-page ruling.

The Speaker last night issued a ruling to declare the session ordered by the Governor as unconstitutional.

It should be noted that the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Sibtain Khan, had postponed all the proceedings on the agenda till Friday, December 23.
A session of the Punjab Assembly (PA) was adjourned till December 23 (Friday) without any proceedings amid a ruckus by opposition.

Pertinently, Governor Punjab Baligh ur Rehman asked CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi to take a vote of confidence on December 21 and summoned a session of the provincial assembly for Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) submitted a no-trust motion against Punjab chief minister, speaker and deputy speaker.
