ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has been observing the 15th death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto today. The party has organized a public rally in Larkana to mark the day.

Benazir Bhutto’s son and the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has urged the PPP’s stalwarts to join the rally to remember the first female prime minister of Pakistan who was martyred in an attack after a public rally in Rawalpindi.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been in Larkana to commemorate the political figure.

“We draw inspiration from her heroic struggle against dictatorship and extremism,” he said. “Shaheed Benazir Bhutto taught us to serve the people, to strive for a Pakistan for all, not just a privileged few.”

Pertinently, Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007, at Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi when she was there to address a public rally. Shoots were fired at her followed by a suicide blast.
