Awami Muslim League Pakistan Chief Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will address the nation at 8pm on Dec 17 and announce the date for the dissolution of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

Shaikh Rasheed said this after a meeting with PTI chief Imran Khan at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore on Thursday.

He said that they discussed the overall political and economic situation of the country, dissolution of provincial assemblies, parliamentarians’ resignations and rising inflation.

He said that vain efforts were being made to stop Imran Khan from politics, adding that the imported government was not interested in solving the issues of the people as they had just come to power to end their corruption cases.

He appealed the Supreme Court to place names of these corrupt people on Exit Control List (ECL) as they are trying to flee the country.

Rasheed observed that they had two-point agenda – one is to disqualify Imran Khan on some technical grounds and the second is to prolong the period of care-taking government in future.

He said that Imran Khan is demanding free and fair elections for the country, challenging Nawaz Sharif to come Pakistan and contest the election.

He added that the situation at Pak-Afghan border is getting worse and on the other hand the country is economically sinking.

He argued that the doors of negotiation in politics could not be closed, adding the country is facing political instability.

He said that he would not talk about the army and judiciary.
