SHC orders to restore green belt and service road at Al Asif Square
KARACHI: Sindh High Court(SHC) has ordered to restore green belt, footpath, and service road to their original condition within 30 days in front of Al-Asif Square.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar issued a written order in a case related to encroachment on bus stands, and green belt in front of Al-Asif Square.
Anjuman e Tajran Al Asif Square has filed the petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
The pettier submitted that buses are parked in front of our shops which affects business. The bus owners have also encroached on the green belt, footpath, and service road.
Court ordered the removal of all encroachments in front of Al-Asif Square while IG Sindh and DG Rangers ensured the presence of personnel to end the encroachment.
Court further ordered IG Sindh to assign traffic police officers to stop the parking of commercial vehicles at the mentioned place.
The court remarked that anti-encroachment teams should register cases against encroachments
Court asked IG Sindh, DG Rangers, and Deputy Commissioner East to submit a report in this regard.
The court summoned Deputy Commissioner East for the next hearing.
Further hearing of the case was adjourned till January 31, 2023.
