Special JIT starts investigation into Arsahd Sharif murder case

  • The first meeting of the Special JIT in the murder case of Bol News Anchorperson Arshad Sharif was held at the DIG Headquarters.
  • During the meeting, it was decided that the JIT will make its TORs and first record the statement of the mother and widow of the deceased Arshad Sharif.
  • Special JIT will contact all the persons connected with Arshad Sharif’s murder. A visit to Kenya will also be made in this regard.

ISLAMABAD: The Special Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed by the Supreme Court has started the investigation into the Arshad Sharif murder case.

The first meeting of the Special JIT in the murder case of Pakistan’s well-known journalist and Bol News Anchorperson Arshad Sharif was held at the DIG Headquarters office.

During the meeting, it was decided that the JIT will make its TORs and first record the statement of the mother and widow of the deceased Arshad Sharif.

According to the decision, all concerned persons will be contacted in this regard while JIT has started immediate preparation of all travel documents to go to Kenya.

Apart from this, the Special JIT will contact all the persons connected with Arshad Sharif’s murder. A visit to Kenya will also be made in this regard.

It should be noted that IG Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan had formed a special joint investigation team.

Capital Police Officer Owais Ahmed is the convener of JIT while the JIT members include Mohammad Aslam from ISI, Murtaza Afzal from MI, Waqar Uddin Syed from FIA and Sajid Kayani from IB.
