LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi on Saturday said the federal government gave no money to Punjab for the flood affectees, Bol News reported.

“The Punjab government has kept funds of one billion rupees for the flood victims of Sindh. One billion rupees will be given to the Sindh government on receipt of authentic data. Sindh also did not respond to the letter regarding the provision of Rs1 billion,” Parvez Elahi said in a series of tweets.

He said as per the instructions of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the provincial government wanted to give Rs1 billion for the flood victims of Sindh.

“Helping the flood victims is a welfare work, the non-cooperation of Sindh is incomprehensible. The Punjab government and related institutions have contacted the Sindh government in every way. Punjab will fulfill its commitment to the affected brothers of Sindh,” he said.

The chief justice had remarked that transmission lines were very important for the projects.

He was heading a five-member larger bench, which heard a case regarding the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
