ECP notifies Imran’s victory in seven NA constituencies

ISLAMABAD: Election commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday notified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s victory in seven constituencies of the national assembly in by-polls.

As per details, the ECP announced the reserved verdict on the case pertaining to PTI chief Imran Khan’s failure to submit details of expenditures on the by-elections campaign.

The ECP decided to issue the notification of PTI Chief Imran Khan as successful on seven National Assembly (NA) constituencies.

The commission reserved the verdict on December 20 and while pronouncing it today the commission maintained that Imran Khan has submitted the details of electoral expenses and decided to notify him.

The five-member bench of the electoral commission has announced the decision in the case that was registered against Khan for not submitting the details of the expenses.

The decision said that Imran Khan remained victorious on NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsadda, NA-31 Peshawar, NA-108 Faisalabad, NA-118 Nankana, NA-45 Kurram, and NA-239 Korangi.

Earlier, ECP decided to take strict action against Chairman PTI for not providing details of by-elections expenses.

It was said that the candidates have to submit the details of the election expenses to the Election Commission within three days of the elections.

It should be remembered that Chairman PTI Imran Khan was declared successful in 6 seats of the National Assembly in the October 16 by-election, however, the notification of Imran Khan’s victory could not be issued due to the non-submission of details of election expenses.
