Imran Khan says Najam Sethi doesn’t know even basics of cricket
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi did not know even fundamentals of cricket, Bol News reported.
While, he said, during his former colleague Ramiz Raja’s tenure Pakistan reached the World Cup final. The former Pakistan skipper said Ramiz Raja saved the national money, while the others were extravagantly spending it. “They altered the PCB constitution to bring Najam Sethi,” he said talking to journalists at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
To a query, he said his wife Bushra Bibi was a house wife. He said what message were they giving to the youth through the audio leaks. He said he wished that transparent and fair elections were held in the country and a long-lasting government was established. “Fair elections will bring stability in the country,” he maintained.
The former PM still believed that establishment could play a crucial role in rescuing the country from crises. He said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had no knowledge about the Afghan government. On the other hand, he said, his government had the best ties with the neighbours.
“You can earn dollars by selling terrorism. (Former president) Musharraf also sold terrorism and minted dollars, however more than 80,000 lives were lost,” he said.
To a query, he said still a setup belonging to General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa was working in the military establishment.
Imran Khan said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement factions were being united in Karachi and the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) was being merged into the Pakistan Peoples Party.
He alleged that Qamar Bajwa was stabbing his back and sympathizing at the same time. He claimed that the establishment asked three Punjab Assembly members of the government to remain neutral during the vote of confidence.
The former prime minister said during his last meeting with Bajwa, the retired general said he was a play boy. He said he replied that yes he had been a play boy.
He alleged that notorious former envoy Hussain Haqqani was hired by Bajwa for lobbying in the United States. “Hussain Haqqani campaigned in favour of Bajwa and against me,” he said adding that the US envoy to Pakistan Doland Lu was taught a lesson in Pakistan.
Imran Khan said he had extremely pleasant relations with the US during Donald Trump’s rule and he was given a historic welcome upon arrival in Washington.
He said the former chief of army staff did not want to hold politicians accountable, therefore his relations grew worse with him.
