LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is to address a press conference at 5pm today.

The former prime minister took to Twitter and announced that he is going to hold a crucial press conference today. The development came following the arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry from his residence in Lahore.

“I will be doing a media talk 4 pm today. Fawad’s arrest on his apt description of the CEC leaves no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pak has become a banana republic devoid of rule of law. We must stand up for our fundamental rights now to save Pak’s drift towards a point of no return.”

Pertinently, Fawad Chaudhry was arrested from his residence in the wee hours on Wednesday by Islamabad Police.

He was presented before a court in Lahore and his transitory remand was approved by the court as requested by the Police.

PTI leadership has condemned the arrest and warned the government of countrywide protests.

Not only this, Fawad Chaudhry’s brother Faraz Chaudhry along with several PTI workers were also detained from Jehlum while protesting against the arrest.
