LAHORE: Chief Minister and Punjab Government spokesperson Musarrat Jamshed Cheema on Friday said exports had slumped during the tenure of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of multiple political parties.

She said, “Because of this miserable government, exports have already come down from 3 billion to 2.2 billion dollars. The textile sector is completely shattered. During the tenure of PDM, more than seven million people associated with the textile sector have become unemployed.”

She said the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTAMA) had become tired of writing letters to the Minister for Commerce and Finance but they did not change their ways.

Musrat Jamshed also said, “The arrogant claims made by PDM have been proved to be false. The assembly was dissolved by the Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on the instructions of Imran Khan. We will drag them in front of the people and will not let PDM run away anymore. The PDM is very afraid of the people, if it were in their hands they would stablish a monarchy in the country. ”

She concluded by saying, “Sometimes these people run from by-elections, sometimes from Islamabad elections and sometimes from local bodies elections in Sindh. They are fated to run away. However, the people will not leave the chase. ”
