ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has appointed Maryam Nawaz as senior vice-president of the party.
In her twitter message, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb while sharing the notification of Maryam Nawaz’s appointment as PML-N senior vice president, she said Shehbaz Sharif has announced the major organizational decision of the party.
“Pursuant to the powers conferred under the Constitution of Pakistan Muslim League -N, the undersigned is pleased to appoint Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif as Senior Vice President” with immediate effect,” the notification reads.
The notification said that Maryam Nawaz has been authorised to reorganise the party at all functional tiers/ levels as its “chief organiser”.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting to review Covid-19 situation in the country on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured 100 percent anti-Covid-19 vaccination of children aged five to twelve years on an emergency basis.
He said that the screening of people at the country’s borders and airports should be made more effective, a third-party audit of the screening system should be conducted and a report submitted to him.
