PESHAWAR: Two policemen were martyred and one was severely injured as terrorists attacked a check post in Charsadda district, Bol News reported

The accident occurred after unknown armed men opened indiscriminate firing at the Dheri Zardar check post on the Charsadda-Nowshera Road.

As a result, three policemen were wounded and shifted to DHQ Hospital Charsadda for medical assistance. A terrorist was injured by police in retaliatory firing.

However, Constable Imran and Ramiz lost their lives after succumbing to their injuries. The third injured police constable Yusuf Ali was shifted to Peshawar with serious injuries.

DPO Charsadda Sohail Khalid said the miscreants escaped due to the retaliatory firing by police. He said one terrorist was injured in the firing and a search is underway to apprehend him.

After the incident, a heavy contingent of police force reached the spot and launched a large-scale search operation in the area.

The attack days after at least three policemen were martyred in a terrorist attack on a police check-post in Khyber Agency.

Police said terrorists opened fire on the check post in Tekhta Beg and used explosive material in the attack after which the police check post caught fire. Jamrud SHO claimed a suicide bomber entered the check post and blew himself up

Two policemen, Manzoor Shah and Younis Khan, were martyred in the attack, while a cook in the check-post, identified as Rafiq, was shifted to the Peshawar hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
