LAKKI MARWAT: Four policemen including a Station House Officer (SHO) were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded near their vehicle in Lakki Marwat.
According to reports, a vehicle of the Lakki police station came under attack when an IED exploded. As a result, four policeman, including SHO Ghulam Razzaq, were injured.
Police said the SHO was were on routine patrol when their vehicle was attacked. Constable Abdul Hameed is in critical condition, police sources said.
Constable Imdadullah, Constable Rafiq are among the other injured and have been shifted to City Hospital for medical treatment.
A day earlier, a bomb planted near the house of a policeman went off in Lakki Marwat. However, there was no loss of life or property. Police officials said miscreants planted an improvised explosive device near the house of constable, Wilayat Khan in Mohallah Railway Station in Lakki Marwat city.
They added the blast was of low intensity. They said the constable also served in the district police’s Special Branch, adding an investigated had been launched.
Earlier this week, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) launched an operation killed six terrorists in Lakki Marwat.
Police received a tip-off that terrorists involved in various bomb attacks and terror incidents are present in Dadiwala and planning to attack Chowki Abbasa, on which the team of Lakki Marwat Police and CTD Bannu took action.
The terrorists opened fire on the forces and upon retaliation six terrorists were killed by the security forces. Weapons, ammunition and grenades were also recovered from them.
Police said the terrorists were wanted in connection with attacks on personnel of law-enforcement agencies and other terror incidents.
