ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday said the PTI would fill all the jails in Pakistan on call of its chief Imran Khan, Bol News reported.

“The fascist imported government should fulfill its this desire too. Handcuffs and torture are nothing, we are ready to sacrifice our lives as well for the country,” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in a tweet.

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Shaikh in a video statement said the entire party and nation were ready not only to implement the ‘fill prison movement’ but to lay their lives too.

Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan announced ‘Jail Bharo Movement’ and asked his supporters to gear up.

While addressing the nation, the former prime minister said his party decided not to opt for a nationwide strike due to the worsening economic situation which will deteriorate even further, and instead chose to fill the prisons as part of their agitation against the government.

“We have two options. We could have gone for a strike and demonstrations, which is also a democratic way. Since the state of economy is so bad, it’ll worsen. Therefore, I ask all my workers, the Pakistani nation and everyone to prepare for ‘Jail Bharo movement’,” he said.
