KHUZDAR: Two policemen were martyred while one another sustained injuries in a blast in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Saturday.

Police said unidentified miscreants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) which went off while police personnel were patrolling and passing by the area. In a result, van driver was martyred and two cops sustained wounds in the bomb explosion.

Later, the seriously injured policeman succumbed to his wounds. The martyred cops were identified as Muhammad Deen (driver) and Abdus Salam.

An emergency was imposed in the hospital and a large number of citizens reached the medical facility to donate blood.

Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar Ilyas Kibzai reached the site and had the victims shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) cordoned off the area and launched a search for the perpetrators, while a probe was underway.
