You can donate for quake-hit Turkiye, Syria through SMS service now

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has taken a major initiative to facilitate the general public to make their donations for the earthquake affected people of Turkiye and Syria through SMS service.

The mobile phones consumers can donate Rs10 by sending SMS “Fund” on 9977, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

The donated amount would be immediately deposited in PM’S Fund established to support quake affected people of Turkiye and Syria.

On February 14, as part of relief aid for quake-hit Syria, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) coordinated and sent skilled and professional rescue and medical teams on Tuesday.

Federal Minister for SAFRON, Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood and Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Hamid Hameed bid farewell to teams at Islamabad International Airport.

The NDMA also dispatched relief items along with teams including 131 winterized family size tents and 3,966 Kg wt essential medicines for quake affectees through special chartered flight of PIA Boeing 777 to Damascus, Syria.

The minister and SAPM assured that Pakistan would continue assisting the quake-affected brethren and sisters of Turkiye and Syria; and the NDMA will send more relief consignment to both countries.
