Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif took luxurious vehicles from Toshakhana
KARACHI: Important details have surfaced since the federal government made partial record of Toshakhana public on Sunday as it has been revealed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari took luxurious vehicles from the Toshakhana department, Bol News reported.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib, in a tweet, said former PM Imran Khan received a vehicle in gift which he deposited in Toshakhana, whereas Asif Zardari fled away with two vehicles, Lexus and BMW, and Nawaz Sharif with Mercedes Benz.
Senior PTI leader and former special assistant to prime minister Iftikhar Durrani said he was laughing after seeing the current details of Toshakhana. The imported government had been running a negative campaign against Imran Khan for 11 months, while the latter earned halal money all his life, he said adding that Khan even brought his hard-earned money from abroad to Pakistan.
During his tenure, the PTI chief increased the price of buying Toshakhana gifts from 15 per cent to 50 per cent, he said. The PTI leader said those who levelled allegations on Imran Khan had themselves taken gifts from Toshakhana.
“They even took pineapple tins, scarf, necklace and watches from Toshakhana. Some such people also surfaced who did not even leave bed sheets in Toshakhana. Nawaz Sharif took one Mercedes from Toshakhana which was not in accordance with the law. Asif Zardari also went against the law and took two vehicles from Toshakhana,” he said.
Iftikhar Durrani said the people had not realized that the PML-N and PPP mercilessly looted Toshakhana.
