QUETTA: The district and sessions court of Islamabad has remanded Imran Khan’s Focal Person Hassaan Niazi in custody of Quetta Police on Friday, Bol News reported.

Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas approved one-day transit remand of the nephew of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. The police had requested the court to grant them his transit remand.

“We approve Hassaan Niazi’s one-day physical remand. The investigation officer should present Hassaan Niazi before the court on March 25,” said the court.

Quetta Police had reached the Islamabad court to seek Hassaan’s remand. A case was filed against him at Quetta Airport police station on March 18.

On March 20, Islamabad Police had arrested Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Hassaan Niazi from outside G-11 courts in Islamabad, Bol News had reported.

Counsel Naeem Haider Panjotha had said Hassaan Niazi came out of the court along him. He had said they told police that he had been bailed, yet Superintendent Police Nosherwan forcibly took him away with him in the vehicle to Ramna police station. The court had reportedly granted Niazi bail till April 3.

PTI leader Farrukh Habib, in a video message, had said SP Nosherwan abducted the PTI focal person on legal affairs from outside the court despite his getting bail in all the cases. “It is a new low of police-gardi. Lawyer Hassaan Niazi who has just now been given bail by the court has been abducted,” he had said asking lawyers across the country to immediately come out in protest and block the roads.
