ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said ethically the Toshakhana gift was owned by the person who had been given it, as it was not given to the state, Bol News reported.
“My name has also come In the Toshakhana case. Action should be taken, if I have violated the law regarding Toshakhana. Whoever wants to file a case against me should contact court,” Shahid Khaqan said addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
To a query, he said the government determined price of the gift.
Important details have surfaced since the federal government made partial record of Toshakhana public on Sunday as it has been revealed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari took luxurious vehicles from the Toshakhana department, Bol News reported.
On March 13, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib, in a tweet, had said former PM Imran Khan received a vehicle in gift which he deposited in Toshakhana, whereas Asif Zardari fled away with two vehicles, Lexus and BMW, and Nawaz Sharif with Mercedes Benz.
Senior PTI leader and former special assistant to prime minister Iftikhar Durrani had said he was laughing after seeing the current details of Toshakhana. The imported government had been running a negative campaign against Imran Khan for 11 months, while the latter earned halal money all his life, he had said adding that Khan even brought his hard-earned money from abroad to Pakistan.
