ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has condemned the raid on Bol TV saying that it again showed the growing fascism in Pakistan, Bol News reported.

In a tweet, sharing videos of people’s coming out in his support in Lahore, he said, “Our people are our strength & people have come out once again to show they stand with our struggle for Haqeeqi Azadi & rule of law. We strongly condemn the raid on Bol TV which again shows the growing fascism in Pak.”

Without any search warrant and notice, Customs officials illegally raided the Headquarters of the Bol TV in Karachi on Monday night.

The officials demanded the Bol TV authorities to produce the record of purchases made during the year of 2015.

Moreover, they harassed the employees of the TV and demanded the inspection of the building. Despite the fact they have no legal order and search warrant.

They warned if they were not allowed to inspect the building, action would be initiated against the Bol TV personnel.

They entered the building without permission and tried to stop the transmission of the TV.

Talking to the Bol TV, Senior Anchorperson Sami Ibrahim announced to stage a sit-in in front of the house of Chief Justice of Pakistan in Islamabad.

He said that the government and its institutions wanted to shut down the Bol TV transmission and choke the voice of the truth.

He said that the Bol TV employees could not be frightened and harrassed by such tactics and threats.

He appealed to the all organizations of journalists and even to owners of the media houses to take the notice of the situation and it could happen with anyone in future if this hooliganism is not stopped at this juncture .
