LAHORE: The Lahore High Court(LHC) has reserved its verdict on the plea of canceling the bail of six Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority(OGRA) officers.
A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the plea to cancel the bail of six OGRA officers.
Justice Sarfraz Ali Dogar, while hearing the bail cancellation petition, reserved the decision after hearing the arguments.
The government of Pakistan has approached for canceling the bail of seven persons, including the former chairperson of OGRA Uzma Adil. Deputy Attorney General Asad Bajwa appeared in court on behalf of the federal government.
All the accused officers also appeared in court.
On behalf of the Federation, Deputy Attorney General Asad Bajwa argued that these officers misused their powers and that gas contracts were awarded to people of their choice at low prices.
Due to this, the national exchequer lost billions. The trial court, contrary to the facts, granted bail to these accused.
Asad Bajwa requested the court to take notice and cancel the bail.
