ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday taking note of the collapse of under-construction bypass at Bhara Kahu formed a committee to inquire into the incident.

The inquiry committee headed by former Interior Secretary Shahid Khan will examine every aspect of the incident that occurred on March 2.

The committee was directed to prepare an inquiry report on an emergency basis and submit it to the prime minister.

PM Sharif said that no negligence would be tolerated in the construction of the Bhara Kahu flyover project.

Under-construction bypass had collapsed in Islamabad on March 2, Bol News had reported. Rescue teams had arrived on the site of the incidence.

The Islamabad Police had confirmed that girders of the under-construction bypass in Bhara Kahu had collapsed. Police had said no life loss took place as a result of falling of the girders. “Police and other rescue organisations are present on the occasion,” they had said adding that traffic police officials were also present to ensure smooth flow of small traffic.

On February 25, at least two labourers had died and three others got injured after pillar of Bhara Kahu flyover fell down as a trailer rammed into it , Bol News had reported.
