Police shoot two terrorists dead in DI Khan

DI KHAN: Two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with police near Baghwani bridge in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday.

The police were conducting a search operation in the area when the terrorists opened fire on them.

On March 14, security forces had killed a terrorist commander involved in an attack on a census team in the Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said in a statement said terrorists opened fire on policy deployed on census security duty in Tank during which a policeman was martyred.

After receiving information, security forces had immediately cordoned off Gara Guldad areas in Dera Ismail Khan and blocked all possible escape routes.

The fleeing terrorists were intercepted in the Gara Guldad area and after an intense exchange of fire, terrorist commander Abdul Rasheed alias Rasheedi was killed.

The dead terrorist was wanted by police for being involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as the killing of innocent civilians, the statement had mentioned.

The forces had also recovered weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorist. The military press wing had said locals appreciated the operation and commitment of security forces to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
