LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) on Sunday filed a plea with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against imposition of Section 144 in Punjab, Bol News reported.

Addressing media outside the ECP office in Lahore, PTI leaders Yashmin Rashid said the Section 144 was imposed in a bid to stop the PTI rally.

Yasmin Rashid said all the sports events were being held in the city, but only PTI rally was being halted. Imran Khan had to lead an election rally on Sunday, she said adding that the PTI was world’s sixth largest party.

She said they were peaceful people and if they were oppressed then there won’t be a bigger injustice then that.
