KARACHI: Police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General-Secretary Arsalan Taj in the wee hours of Sunday, Bol News reported.

The PTI has confirmed the arrest of the MPA Arslan Taj. PTI Karachi spokesperson said Arsalan Taj was arrested from his residence. “Police officials entered the house of Arsalan Taj in plain clothes. They sabotaged the household items,” he said.

Condemning the arrest, the spokesperson apprised that police had come in three mobile vans. Bol News has obtained CCTV footage of the PTI leader’s house which clearly shows the presence of police personnel.

On the other hand, police carried out a raid at the house of PTI MPA Raja Azhar as well. In a statement, Raja Azhar said police officials were present outside his house and harassing his family members.

He alleged that police entered his house without a warrant. “Under which law police have come to my house. Police have thrice come to my house since last night,” he said.

PTI leaders have condemned the incidents. PTI Sindh President Ali Zaidi asked for which crime Arsalan Taj was arrested. He also queried if permission was taken from the Sindh Assembly peaker for his arrest.
