KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced six hours of gas load shedding in the city amid Ramadan.

The spokesperson gas company has said that supply will be suspended from 8 am till 2:30 pm adding that the decision has been taken to manage the load.

“The step has been taken to manage the reduction in gas and increasing demand of supply.”

However, the consumers have been worried due to the schedule saying that the load management has given rise to problems for children and senior citizens and the parents are unable to manage the meal times for school-going kids.

Notably, the gas crisis has worsened in the country, particularly in urban areas as domestic consumers without the supply of gasoline faced severe problems at the time of Iftar and Sehr on the very first Ramazan.

The Karachi consumers, who are complaining of not getting enough of this essential fuel during mealtimes, said that the gas pressure was very low from 8am to 2:30pm making their Sehri and Iftar difficult.

“Shutting down gas supply in the holy month of Ramadan is insanity. This is summer, not winter. The government is making our lives miserable,” a resident of F B Area said.
