• Government employee salaries to increase from July 1, 2023.

The government has issued a notification to raise the salaries of government employees, effective from July 1, 2023.

As per the notification, there will be an increase of 30 to 35 percent in the salaries of government employees.

The notification specifies a 35 percent raise for employees in grades 1 to 16, and a 30 percent raise for federal employees in grades 17 to 22.

It is worth noting that the government had previously announced salary and pension increments for government employees in the budget. The salary of employees in grades 1 to 16 was increased by 35 percent, and the salary of employees in grades 17 to 22 was increased by 30 percent.

Additionally, the pension saw a 17.5 percent increase, with the minimum pension for government employees set at 12,000 rupees per month.
