Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans owner and brother of veteran politician Jahangir Tareen, Alamgir Tareen on Thursday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself to death at the age of 63, Bol News reported.

Multan Sultans CEO Haider Azhar confirmed Alamgir Tareen’s death. The deceased lived in Gulberg area of ​​Lahore. Alamgir Tarin lived in an apartment near Gulberg’s Siddique Trade Center.

Alamgir Tareen had a very good personality, Haider Azhar said adding that it was beyond his understanding how his death happened suddenly.

Family sources have confirmed that Jahangir Tareen’s brother committed suicide by shooting himself.

Jahangir Khan Tareen got the news of his brother’s death during the party meeting, the sources said adding that he left the meeting to visit his brother’s home.

The family sources said police reached upon receiving the information about Alamgir Tareen’s death at his apartment in Gulberg areas. Police said the deceased had left a written statement prior to the suicide in which he mentioned about his illness.

Alamgir Tareen was unmarried. He was engaged and going to tie the knot in December this year. A forensic team has arrived at the site of the incident.

Alamgir Tareen was a renown businessman, owner of Multan Sultans and managing director of Shamim and Company (PVT) Ltd, which is an official franchise of Pepsi Co. in South Punjab. He was also running the largest water filtration plant of the country. He did Bachelor’s from Barclay’s University of California and then completed his masters from a famous university.
